Rags to Riches

Anybody read about the Chris Ferguson challenge? ...how he went from 0 dollars to 10,000 dollars. Now, I've been playing poker for quite a while and I don't believe this feat is possible. After multiple reloads and many of hours wasted away on online poker, I don't see how someone could ever achieve such a goal. As for me, poker is a form of entertainment including the rush of surviving an all in or pulling off an unbelievable bluff. Online poker is everything BUT a moneymaker.

Indeed, the goal here is to win money but after many years of experience, I feel like there is no such thing as winning. Just when you feel like you made something, FT BS arrives and brings you back to where you started. Now, I know some people do make a living off of poker, but is it from online poker? I'm not sure. I don't see how it is possible. Although Chris Ferguson claims to have done the impossible, I still won't believe it until I see it with my own eyes (aka when I become rich).

  1. I also have played online for awhile and I look at poker the same as you. I really enjoy the game and would like to hold onto the hope you can build a bankroll from nothing.

But for me no luck yet. Playing free rolls and low limits is definitely more a game of luck when you have everyone calling your Pocket AA with any garbage hand and hitting the nuts on by the river!!

Very frustrating but we just have to learn to not over value our hands and wait for the donkeys to make mistakes.
